Newspapers - an archive of our past, a reflection of our present and an insight into our future. A closer look at any of the components of timeline, and change festers in every corner. The black and white typewriter font has ring in colour, its fluttering pages ushering winds of change. Once again as the world finds itself caught in a viral storm ‘Covid-19’, a newspaper has picked up the cudgels of change.
With young change makers at the helm, The Global Times, a youth driven newspaper has always been a harbinger of change and social reform. From leading social campaigns on child literacy, cancer, infant mortality, civic sense and many more to penning stories that propel positive journalism and reform; it has always been the forerunner of change. This time too, The Global Times, or GT as it is fondly called, is all set to wage a war against the pandemic that has held the entire world in shackles of fear. But what can a newspaper do? Write stories? Yes, that too and a lot more. Our campaign #GTFightsCorona is a series of several initiatives, all aimed at spread the curb of the pandemic and helping those in need in these grim times. We are all set to be the change, bring change. Are you?
We are The Global Times (GT), India’s only youth newspaper registered under the RNI act. Initiated in 2007 under the guidance of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, the newspaper has been the frontrunner for positive journalism. Whether it is urging young leaders to crusade for a social cause with unique programmes like ‘Youth Power’ or honing their innate journalist via ‘GT Making A Newspaper Contest’, GT has always strive to nurture the youth, the future of the country. In its 13 years of existence, GT is privy to innumerable success stories with awards like Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards, Rotary Club Award, etc. to its credit.
